The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is to be the latest of Samsung’s smartphone  offerings. To replace the Galaxy S as the starring phone, the Galaxy Nexus will also be unique in that it uses the most up to date version of the Android Operating System. The phone was created in a joint partnership with Google.
The name Galaxy Nexus is a combination of the best of Google and the best of Samsung.Galaxy is a line of Samsung smartphones while Nexus is a line of phones that used Google mobile services. This new phone will be able to be used on high speed LTE networks and HSPA+ networks.
The Galaxy Nexus will be the first phone released with Android 4.0,also referred to as Ice Cream Sandwich. This new operating system was designed with uniting both Android phone and tablet versions into one common operating system. Some of the updates to the operating system may seem fairly minor. However, Google has ramped up this operating system by adding a host of new features. One of the changes to Android is that it does not require any buttons on the phone. Rather the Galaxy Nexus will use buttons that appear on the screen through the operating system. Also, another change is the additional of a swiping feature. Users simply need to drag apps or other items off the screen in order to close them or get rid of them. Google also added their own signature font to the operating system known as Roboto.
Since the Galaxy Nexus has the updated version of Android, its applications are also updated. When using the browser app, users can view the mobile version or the full website.Pages can also be  easily saved so they can be read offline. This can be quite handy to bring up information quickly.
