On Tuesday, February 5th, members watched in awe an amazing and informative presentation on DIGITAL
PHOTOGRAPHY. Mr. Ed Ostrowski, from Senior Net, first took several pictures of four of the club’s board members
and then performed what seemed like magic using these photos.
Using tools from Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 (various other photo programs with the same or similar tools can
be used to perform these editing tricks), Ed proceeded to:
1. Remove one person from the group picture of four people and create a new picture with only three
people in it. The original picture still remained.
2. Copy the eyes of one person from the picture to another person in the picture.
3. Replace the dark background of the original picture with a beautiful background of the sky at sunset.
4. Help one person in the picture lose weight without going on a diet.
5. Show pictures from the 1920's that he scanned into his computer.
His presentation proved that you can no longer rely on photos to be an accurate description of an event. What you
see in a photo is not necessarily the truth. You can find the pictures on our website under Club Pictures.
He then showed us how Adobe Photoshop program can organize pictures in various ways, making it simple to locate
a picture based on a year, a specific person, a group, a place, or an event that you want to find.
Ed also mentioned that Picasa is a good program, but Adobe Photoshop has much more editing capabilities.
Snapfish was also mentioned. It is a site for on-line sharing of your pictures for others to view. Hal Levin mentioned
that he purchased a slide scanner for slides for under $100. He can scan three slides at a time. Two members won
the gift certificates to Office Depot. Cookies, coffee, and questions followed the meeting.

Undo features. If you made a mistake, click the Undo Icon, or choose Edit, Undo, or press Ctrl+Z. If you discover
you made a mistake five minutes ago, you might be able to recover by clicking the Undo button repeatedly. If you
save or close your file, all bets are off. The Undo icon looks like a return arrow on your tool bar.
