On January 22, 2008, Bobbie Saul, Program Director, and Gail Schoenbach, Publicity, presented an informative
session on “Searching Websites. Even though torrential rains limited our attendance, all those in attendance
discovered new and exciting websites. For those who tried to attend but got stuck in the valet parking line-up, we
thank you for your effort.

• www.myrecipes.com – recipes, menus, easy meals, and cooking videos
• www.epicurious.com – recipes, menus, and cooking articles
• www.foodnetwork.com – healthy recipe collections, cooking videos, and party ideas
Directories/Search Directories
• www.reversephonenumbers.com – get names and addresses from a phone number
• www.systranbox.com – translates from English (or any language) to the designated language as you type
• www.google.com – the best information webpage on the computer. It includes directions/maps, images,
product search, mail, etc.
Entertainment
• www.netflix.com – online movie rentals
• www.imdb.com – internet movie database
• www.youtube.com - watch amateur videos.
• www.rottentomatoes.com – new movie reviews and previews
• www.jacquielawson.com – e-cards and animated greeting cards and online greetings. The annual fee is
$10.00.

• www.md.com - online Medical Resource about drugs, doctors, hospitals, diseases, and medical conditions.

• www.Kimkomando.com - great tips and tricks for the computer and many other electronic devices. Kim has a
call-in show on Saturday at 3 P.M. on AM station 1290.
Travel

• www.seatguru.com – shows airplane seating, on-flight amenities, and airline information
• www.cheapcruise.com – cheap cruise deals
Tip 1: To find a word in a Word document, do the following:
1. Choose Edit.
2. Choose Find.
3. Type the text you want to locate in the Find and Replace Box.
4. Type in the word you want to find in the “Find What” box.
5. Click Find Next. The application selects the next text occurrence.
Tip 2: When filling out a form, press the Tab key after filling out each blank. The Tab key will forward the cursor to
the next line on the form. To move in reverse, hold down the Shift key while pressing the Tab key.
Tip 3. To organize several open windows, right-click on a blank area of taskbar (the taskbar is a row of buttons and
icons that usually appears along the bottom of the screen) and choose one of the tile commands (cascade
windows, tile windows horizontally, or tile windows vertically), . Windows XP scoops all your open windows and lays
them back down in neat orderly squares.
